Southport is steeped in cultural history. If you are familiar with Southport's history you will be familiar with Fortunino Matania, the Italian artist who was famous for his illustrations of Southport in the early 1900s.
One of the most popular museums in Southport is The Atkinson which has a fantastic collection of art and a large collection of local history exhibits such as; Between Land and Sea, the story of Sefton.
If you pop into the nearby Southport Market, there is a collection of art on display that was donated by The Atkinson for the opening. This showcases the history of Southport through images and art.
Whether you're interested in art, history, or something a bit different, you're sure to find something that interests you in Southport.
