Tariffs

All terms and tariffs quoted by advertisers are as accurate as possible at the time of going to press. However, since it is necessary for the production of this web site to commence at least three months before its eventual publication it is possible that some increases could take place before the holiday season commences.

ALL TERMS AND TARIFFS QUOTED INCLUDE VAT AT 17.5% AND ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE IF THE RATE OF VAT IS ALTERED. PROSPECTIVE VISITORS ARE, THEREFORE, ADVISED TO CHECK CURRENT TARIFFS WITH HOLIDAY ESTABLISHMENTS BEFORE FINALISING A BOOKING SO THAT MISUNDERSTANDINGS ABOUT TARIFFS AND TERMS ARE AVOIDED.

IT IS REGRETTED THAT SEFTON COUNCIL AS PUBLISHERS OF THIS WEB SITE CANNOT ENTER INTO ANY DISPUTES CONCERNING TARIFFS AND HOTELS ACCOUNTS WHICH ARE PRIVATE MATTERS BETWEEN THE ACCOMMODATION PROVIDER AND THEIR GUESTS.

Accommodation Terms

Reservations and Cancellations

When enquiring for accommodation please ensure that your full requirements are clearly stated particularly in respect of the numbers in your party, the exact number and type of accommodation required, any special requirements, and the arrival and departure dates, remember to include your contact details.

If writing, it is always helpful to enclose a stamped addressed envelope. In the event of accommodation which has been confirmed having to be cancelled for any reason, it is possible that a claim could arise from either party, (i.e. from the hotelier or from the visitor). Visitors are recommended to take out a holiday cancellation insurance policy which for a modest sum will afford protection against any such claims.

ACCOMMODATION BOOKING TERMS + CONDITIONS

Please check that all the details on the confirmation form meet with your requirements. Acceptance of this letter implies that your approval of the choice of establishment, its facilities and services and the terms shown and constitute a contract thereon.

* The accommodation detailed on this web site has been booked for you by Southport Visitor Services as agent for the accommodation establishment and therefore, any contract for the booking is directly between you and the accommodation establishment. On arrival, you should check that the accommodation is as booked, including type of board and price.

* Southport Visitor Services will charge you a non refundable confirmation fee towards the cost of the accommodation, which will be deducted from your account by the accommodation establishment on production of your confirmation form. This confirmation fee is non-refundable whatsover.

* The establishment may contact you for a deposit directly or to obtain your credit / debit card details to secure the room.

* If you wish to cancel your booking, the following policy applies - The establishment reserves the right to claim cancellation charges up to 100% of the total cost of the booking. All cancellations must be in writing and sent to Southport Visitor Services. The establishment and Southport Visitor Services will make every reasonable effort to re-sell any cancelled accommodation to reduce your liability for cancellation charges. A cancellation notice will be issued and sent to you as confirmation of your cancellation.

* If you fail to take up the accommodation by the time stated, without prior arrangement with the accommodation establishment, then the booking will be automatically cancelled and your confirmation fee will be forfeited. The accommodation establishment may also charge you a cancellation fee. This may also be the case if you cancel the booking.

* Whilst Southport Visitor Services will make every effort to find suitable accommodation, it cannot be held responsible for, nor accept any liability for complaints or claims of any nature arising from this booking. Nor for any loss or damage which may be suffered by you or other members of your party, during or as a result of a stay at the accommodation establishment.

* To the best of our knowledge, all prices quoted are inclusive of VAT and Service.

* Descriptions of the establishments in the Visitor Guide and this web site are believed to be correct at the time of printing/publishing. Southport Vistor Services will not be liable for any changes that may occur in establishment ownership, facilities available etc. If your booking depends on the provision of certain facilities, this must be made clear at the time of booking.

* Many establishments welcome dogs. Please check the symbol grid for details. A person in charge of the dog must accept full responsibility for all its actions whatever they may be and however caused. The proprietor will make any charges directly.

* If on arrival, the establishment is displaying terms that are higher than those agreed, the establishment will honour the terms quoted in this confirmation.

* Allowances cannot be made for meals not taken, nor for temporary absence, late arrival or premature departure.

TICKET BOOKINGS TERMS + CONDITIONS

SMBC will use best endeavours to contact purchasers either by phone, email or in writing (using the details provided at the time of ordering) and advise them to return the tickets. Please note, however, it is the customer's responsibility to check whether the event is going ahead at the scheduled date, time and venue, and SMBC cannot guarantee that they
will inform the customer of any changes to the event date, time or venue.

We advise the use of secure mail when returning tickets. On receipt, SMBC will refund the customer the face value of the tickets using the same method as used to purchase them.
If an event is moved from its advertised venue and / or the date is changed, tickets already purchased may remain valid should the customer wish to attend the revised event. If not, SMBC will refund the face value of the tickets. SMBC will notify all purchasers by phone, email or in writing (using the details provided at the time of ordering) to advise on the validity of the tickets and the procedure for obtaining a refund.
Refund requests will usually be accepted up until 1 week prior to the revised event, or 3 days after notification of the change (whichever is the later) unless otherwise notified. In the event of a change at short notice (within 1 week of the event) SMBC will notify purchasers of the conditions that apply, and offer a refund if these are not agreeable.
Please note, however, it is the customer's responsibility to check whether the event is going ahead at the scheduled date, time and venue, and SMBC cannot guarantee that they will inform the customer of any changes to the event date, time or venue.

If SMBC is unable to fulfill an order for any of the reasons below the customer will be entitled to a full refund, including any booking fee charged:
SMBC do not receive the tickets for your order from the event organiser, and cannot arrange for the tickets to be collected
SMBC despatch your order to the wrong address and cannot provide replacement tickets
SMBC do not despatch your order and do not arrange for the tickets to be available for collection
SMBC despatch the wrong order, ie wrong event / wrong type of tickets
Any other similar circumstances where SMBC has acted with negligence or where we may have acted in breach of contract

No duplicate tickets will be issued to replace lost or stolen tickets.
Customers are advised to check their purchase upon receipt.
It is the responsibility of the customer to inform SMBC of any change of address, contact phone number or email address, both before and after receipt of the goods. Please note that our preferred method of contact for customers booking online is by email, so care should be taken to provide a current, valid email address.
The right to admission to an event is reserved by the promoter and event venue, who may take health and safety, environmental and security concerns into account at their reasonable discretion, and may from time to time carry out security searches. SMBC would advise customers that no refunds will be offered to customers who are refused entry or ejected from a venue on account of late arrival, being (or appearing to be) under age*, declining to be searched, abusive, threatening, drunken or other antisocial behaviour (including smoking in no smoking areas), carrying offensive weapons or illegal substances, or making unauthorised audio,
video or photographic recordings.
*Events and ticket types where an age restriction applies are clearly indicated during the booking process. Please ensure that you read all the information that applies to the event/ticket you are booking, and carry proof of age if appropriate.

If it becomes impractical to post tickets out, due to the proximity of an event or circumstances beyond our control, we reserve the right to make tickets available for collection at the venue immediately prior to the event. Customers will be notified by phone, email or in writing (using the details provided at the time of ordering) if this becomes necessary.
By ordering you agree that the tickets are for the personal use of you and your party only, and will not be resold or transferred. Any resale or attempt to resell the tickets at a price higher than purchased will result in your orders being cancelled without prior notification.
If a customer orders more tickets than the maximum allowed, as indicated during the booking process, we reserve the right to cancel the order. The maximum applies per person/card/household.
If tickets that are despatched by Special Delivery are returned to SMBC as 'addressee unknown', we reserve the right to cancel the order.
SMBC will not share your personal information for marketing or any other purposes without your consent unless where required by law. We will always respect your privacy and any personal communication between you and ourselves. We will always comply with any data protection legislation currently in force.

Complaints

If a holiday visitor has any reason to complain about the accommodation, food or service at any of the establishments included in this web site it is strongly recommended that such complaints should be made in the first instance direct to the proprietor or manager of the establishment concerned at the time that they arise. Most responsible managements will be pleased to investigate and remedy any complaints from their visitors. It is often difficult to deal satisfactorily with a complaint which is made after the visitor has returned home and when facts cannot be checked in the presence of all parties involved.

For this reason the Council cannot investigate any complaints which have not been reported to the hotelier at the time they arise or which are only reported to the Council after the visitor has returned home.

Following some of the links within this site will take you to sites external to the web site(s). Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council accepts no liability for material contained in any external website. Such material is produced by people and organisations not connected to Sefton MBC and whilst reasonable care is taken in monitoring it, no guarantee or warranty can be given as to the accuracy or appropriateness of information.

Sefton MBC welcomes links from other web sites. We would be grateful if you would contact us first before using any artwork from this web site.
