Guide to the resort

Eighteen miles north of Liverpool is Southport, 'England's Classic Resort', where you will find glorious sandy beaches, panoramic seafront and a Victorian pier.

Seafront: Beautiful Beaches - The Southport & Sefton coastline is renowned for its beautiful beaches. Southport, Formby, and Ainsdale are regularly awarded the ENCAMS Seaside Award Flags.
Shopping: Designer names, tree lined boulevards and unexpected little gems. Welcome to the Paris of the North! Quite simply - if it's style and sophistication you're after when shopping then look no further than Lord Street .
Promenade: Landau Carriages | Dunes Leisure Centre Southport's scenic seafront is something to really write home about. Southport's Promenade is internationally famous with a bronze statue of Queen Victoria surveying all that goes on beneath her.
Sefton's Natural Coast: The sand dunes, beaches and marshes of the Sefton Coast are one of the most important areas for nature conservation in Europe. The Sefton Coast is also an important visitor destination with popular bathing beaches and open countryside.
Heritage: Southport owes its existence to the growing popularity of sea bathing along the Lancashire coast in the late eighteenth century. One of the most popular bathing locations was South Hawes, an area of sand dunes and scattered fishermen's cottages.
Parks and Gardens: Southport's reputation as a 'floral town' is well justified, with it's town centre gardens and parks as well as several other beautiful parks dotted around the resort.
Splash World: Dunes Splash World is Southport's fantastic all-weather Leisure Pool and Recreation Centre. Splash World contains an exciting array of water features including a Tube Ride, 4 Lane Multi Slide, Lazy River, Bubble Spa and Water Curtains.
Getting to Southport: Getting to Southport by Car From the South, take the M6 to exit 26; the M58 will take you to Ormskirk and then take the A570 to Southport.
