Which seed-eater was that? Expert Identification helps.
This RSPB reserve has a variety of coastal habitats including large areas of freshwater that attract many of the Ribble’s birds. Up to 40,000 birds can be seen in winter and nesting birds include redshanks, lapwings and avocets. During the winter months, the skies are filled with visiting wildfowl such as pink-footed geese and wigeons.
Two hides and other viewing areas are available. The Sandgrounders’ Hide has welcoming volunteers on hand to help you identify all the birds!

Admission to the reserve is free.
