As Liverpool prepares to celebrate its year as European Capital of Culture, Aintree Racecourse will be standing proud as one of the city’s landmark attractions, ready for a special year and a very special 2008 John Smith’s Grand National meeting.

The 2007 Grand National witnessed new facilities, new sights and new experiences for all racegoers in attendance and our commitment to constantly improve the experience of visiting Aintree will continue into 2008 with the opening of The Platinum County Lounge in the County Stand. Set amidst a sea of racecourse memorabilia this dedicated lounge and reserved seating area will be strictly limited in capacity to bring a real VIP experience to visitors.

The jewel in our crown, the John Smith’s Grand National meeting, places Aintree on the world-map as the venue for sporting excellence, not only as the biggest horse race in the world, but as a reason to celebrate, a reason to get together with friends and family and enjoy a grand social occasion.

Watched by 600million people worldwide, come and take your place in the stands at Aintree and watch history unfold in the 161st running of the world’s greatest steeplechase on 3rd, 4th and 5th April 2008.
